Mark Hill has been practicing Architecture for over 35 years and in late 2015 co-founded the firm Studio H Architecture Planning Environments (SHAPE) with offices in Atlanta, GA and being developed in NYC. Prior to forming SHAPE, Mr. Hill was part of the Senior Management Team for the design of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) on the National Mall in Washington DC. He was responsible for the management and oversight of the 4 Architect group Freelon Adjaye Bond/SmithGroup along with 30 other firms composed of Engineers, Designers and Specialty consultants. Prior to NMAAHC Mr. Hill was with the prominent New York firm Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects for 13 years where he held an officer position and was the Associate-in-Charge of several award-winning projects. There he had the opportunity to collaborate with Charles Gwathmey and Robert Siegel on several museums, libraries, medical facilities as well as high-end private residences. Before Joining GSAA, Mr. Hill was with the renowned New York firm I.M.Pei + Partners which later became Pei Cobb Freed + Partners where he collaborated on several award winning cultural and institutional projects and first met his co-founding partner, Herman Howard. Mr. Hill is experienced in the application of bringing Art and Architecture together in a unique composition. He has a broad range of experience and the expertise necessary to create and manage high quality buildings and award-winning designs. Mr. Hill is a native of New York City and in addition to his passion for Architecture he is also passionate about giving back to the children of his community. He has been teaching children moral virtues for over 30 years and has co-directed summer programs to reach out to children who have been abused, abandoned and/or neglected.

Debmalya Ghosh is an architect and urban designer interested in connecting the public-private realm in city design. Debmalya has worked as an urban and architectural designer at SHAPE for two years. While at SHAPE, he has researched various topics, including site planning, building form analysis, public and private spaces, waterfronts, and interiors in studios
and professional work.
Debmalya completed his Bachelors in Architecture from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and earned his Master’s Degree in Urban Design at Georgia Institute of Technology to focus on public spaces, green infrastructure, and autonomous vehicles, and connecting architecture to the urban built environment.
To hone his skills, Debmalya has participated in several field competitions. He has received awards for his numerous design projects as a student both in India and the US. Professionally he has worked in Delhi on multiple construction built projects in the housing sector. As an urban designer at SHAPE in the US, Debmalya has taken the lead on projects that range from single-family housing to the planning of over 300
acres of mixed-use buildings.
Currently, Debmalya is engaged in various architecture and master planning projects in the US, Kenya, and India. True to his passions, Debmalya is keen on integrating sustainable and creative practices within the projects’ master planning process.
Andrew Smith is a Designer that has been with the SHAPE team for 4 years. He completed his Bachelors of Architecture from Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia. He is currently an active member of American Institute of Architects (AIA) He is interested in focusing on the realm of affordable housing and has done research on combating homelessness through innovative architectural fabrication techniques.
He has worked on a variety of projects under the SHAPE umbrella, from Architecture to the Urban Planning scale. He is devoted to creating highly efficient spaces that sparks delight through communal engagement. Currently he is on the road to architectural licensure and hopes to be registered by 2022.
Bangseh Akuchu is an Architectural Designer with three and a half years of experience, one and a half of those SHAPE. He works on multiple projects at various scales that range between Architecture, Planning, and Research with a focus on equitable design, creative placemaking, and community engagement.
He has completed her Master of Architecture and is working on completing his Master of Business Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is currently an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Atlanta and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA).
Shenjie Li is an architectural designer, who has been working with SHAPE for two years. He has completed his Master of Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
He leads and works on multiple projects of various scales that range between Architecture, from house, commercial buildings, hotel, apartments, to museums. as well as some interior designs. Shenjie is a creative architectural designer, as he participated in several field competitions, he has received awards for his numerous design projects as a student both in China and the US. Professionally he has worked in AECOM Chengdu office on several projects from culture center, museum, and hotel design. As an architecture designer in SHAPE, he’s been working as design team leader on many residential and commercial projects.
Carmen Reyes is a driven Interior Designer. She has work experience in all areas of the design field such as project management, schedule drafting, budgeting details, client consulting, conceptual and construction drawings, and experience in lighting design, restaurant design and other interior design services. She also has architectural design experience that includes redevelopment and renovation projects, site plan design, single family housing projects, design phasing projects, permit drawings, as well as a vast knowledge of ADA /building code and zoning regulations.
Through her many acquired skills, she implements design techniques and principles in order to create out-of-the-box designs that will positively impact human connection to their interior through the use of biophilic designs.
Within his 4.5 years of experience, Devin has worked on numerous projects through multiple lenses of design ranging from master planning, urban design, interiors, & architecture. With the bulk of his focus on architectural design he has been a key team member in developing many of the built SHAPE projects as well as those under construction within the Atlanta area. He has experience in all phases of the design and construction processes from the conceptual stage through construction administration as a designer and a project manager.
Devin has recently started working on a handful of single family home renovation projects as well as continuing to provide design services for ongoing multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects. In some of his downtime he volunteers at Capitol Hill Child Enrichment Center where he once worked and his interest outside of design include sports, film, music, and traveling.
